Urbact II Programme (EU)

URBACT is a European Union programme, funded by the European Regional Development Fund, which aims to foster the exchange of experience among European cities and the dissemination of knowledge on all issues related to sustainable urban development. The second cycle of the programme, URBACT II, was launched in 2007 and ended in 2013. During this time, Lia Ghilardi was asked to act as Lead Expert for one Network, providing advice to partners on how to use culture and creativity to generate opportunities for small- and medium-size cities. The Network included partners from the UK, Sweden, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Germany. Lia continues to be involved with URBACT in her capacity as an Expert.
